About

One place where a child can keep growing

Every child is unique, and deserves the chance to thrive. That is the whole idea, and everything here follows from it.

We are a team of teachers and specialists who believe in the potential of every child. Through personalised teaching, care and skill development, we help each one find their strengths and reach them.

Care, creativity and innovation are what we work by. We work closely with children and with their parents, building a place that is safe and unhurried, where confidence and independence grow alongside marks.

What we are trying to build

  1. Teaching shaped to the child, not to the timetable

Every child is assessed before they are placed, and moved on when they are ready rather than when the term ends.

  2. More than one way to teach the same thing

If a child is not getting it, the method changes. That is what a large bank of methodologies is for.

  3. Confidence built alongside marks

Focus, skills and self-belief are taught on purpose here, not left to arrive on their own.

  4. Families kept in the loop

Parents hear what changed and what comes next. We work with families rather than around them.

  5. A child who needs less of us each year

Independence is the point. The aim is a child who can sit down and study without someone beside them.

How we work

  • Care and patience

Every child is treated with respect. A child who feels safe will attempt something hard; a child who feels judged will not.

  • Methods that keep moving

We keep testing how we teach and drop what is not working. Better results come from better teaching, not from longer hours.

  • Room for every kind of learner

Quick, slow, confident, anxious — each child is placed where they can succeed, and stretched from there.

  • Built with parents

Plans are made with the family and reviewed with the family. You will always know where your child stands.

Four things we are trying to change

  • Better Learning

Concepts taught until they hold, not until the chapter ends.

  • Better Focus

Attention treated as a skill that can be practised and grown.

  • Better Skills

Abacus, chess, drawing and language — thinking beyond the syllabus.

  • Better Future

Confidence, communication and qualifications that travel.
